Content rules

You can argue, criticise, swear and make jokes here. Targeted abuse and dangerous content do not belong on LastWord.

Version 2026-09-05-v2 · Updated 5 September 2026

Format

A new Last Word can contain up to 80 characters. It is displayed as plain text: markup does not run as code or embed media. You can add an optional public name and an HTTPS destination, subject to review. Link approval is not a guarantee about a third-party site.

Prohibited content

Do not target people or groups with identity-based slurs, dehumanisation or harassment. Threats, incitement to violence, doxxing and exposure of sensitive private information are prohibited.

Do not publish sexual exploitation, abuse involving children, trafficking, explicit sexual shock content or other unlawful content. Phishing, malware and links intended to harm or deceive visitors are prohibited.

Political disagreement, criticism of religions or institutions, profanity, satire and controversial opinions are allowed. Context matters: quoting abuse to report or criticise it is different from directing it at someone.

These rules apply to the message, public name, logos, campaign presentation and destinations. Boosting does not exempt an existing Last Word from review.

Review and removal

Automated checks can be wrong or inconclusive. Uncertain submissions wait for human review before payment, without holding a price. Approval lets you return and confirm the then-current price; it does not charge you automatically.

We may temporarily hide a Last Word, remove it for a rule breach or legal requirement, or exceptionally remove it for a business reason. We record the reason and provide affected buyers with a review route. The Refund policy distinguishes those situations.

Removal stops display and distribution on LastWord's own surfaces. We cannot recall screenshots, messages already sent or copies held by third parties. Financial and decision records may be retained after public content is hidden.
